Record your Mac desktop
Important Note: This app is no longer essential if you have OS X 10.6+ and Apple Quicktime X as it now has the ability to capture video from your desktop. If you have an older version of OS X however, it's worth downloading.
DesktopRecorder is a free desktop recorder for Macs which records both images and sounds in a simple handy app.
All you need to do is select the compression rate and number of frames per second you want your screencast to be in and you're ready to go. It's a very simple piece of desktop recording software but as noted above, so is Quicktime X which does exactly the same job and offers slightly more power than DesktopRecorder.
If you don't have OS X 10.6+ and QuickTime X installed, then DesktopRecorder is a very useful screen recording tool.

Not Too Bad, 4 STARS.
MoreAwesome! It works really well, and I use it to record for my YouTube channel. However, the biggest downsides are:
-Videos take up a TON of space (I took one that is 16 minutes long and it took up 1 gig!)
-The 'Low-Def' is really bad. I can't really play many demanding games while screencasting, because the high-def seems to slow it down a ton and the low-def is much too glitchy and slow to post on YouTube.

Functions as expected. Two thumbs up..
MoreThis is great! While it does not record sound, and automatically records at full screen resolution, you can't beat free. This does exactly what I need it to. It can record at 24 or 30 fps as well as many others and at varying qualities to the destination you choose.
